Distinguished Fellows Program

Distinguished Fellows Program

In 2015 and 2016, the Georgetown University India Initiative Distinguished Fellows Program brought four influential public figures from India to Georgetown’s campus for a week of guest lectures, public and private roundtables, faculty meetings, and public events.

The goal of the program was to deepen Georgetown’s engagement with those on the front lines of policymaking and innovation in India. Distinguished fellows visited undergraduate and graduate classes and gave guest lectures, participated in roundtables and working groups at prominent D.C. think tanks, and gave public talks to students, faculty, and members of the Washington, D.C., community.

In 2015, the India Initiative hosted Salman Khurshid, former Indian minister of external affairs, as well as Muhammad Ali Khan, one of India’s leading lawyers. The following year, the initiative hosted two of India’s most prominent journalists, Rajdeep Sardesai, consulting editor at the India Today Group, and Sagarika Ghose, consulting editor at the Times of India.
