Student Activities

Georgetown students participated in the India Initiative's activities through the India Innovation Studio, research projects, student-to-student dialogue, and events. The initiative also fostered collaboration among faculty leaders, the Asian Studies Program, and other on-campus organizations to coordinate a wide array of events and encourage dialogue on India.

Students interested in completing a Fulbright experience in India may apply for a Fulbright-Nehru Open Study/Research Award or a Fulbright Nehru English Teaching Assistant Award.

India Innovation Studio was a multidisciplinary course in the Walsh School of Foreign Service that incorporated political science, sociology, economics, and science.

Kyra Kocis

Kyra Kocis (SFS’20), a 2020 Marshall Scholar, researched the social ramifications of technological modernization among hand block printers in Jaipur, India, with SFS associate professor Shareen Joshi. She also participated in the India Innovation Studio with Irfan Nooruddin and Mark Giordano.

O.P. Jindal Global University in Sonipat, India

I was a Master’s student at O.P. Jindal Global University in Sonipat, India. One semester, I studied at the McCourt School of PublicPolicy as part of an exchange program. The exchange program at the McCourt School of Public Policy was an unforgettable experience.

Football

Football was always  something that I was extremely passionate about; for me, it is more than just a sport, and I see tremendous potential for it as a mechanism to spur foreign investment and economic development at a grassroots level.
