National Education Policy with Anurag Behar

India’s Ministry of Human Resource Development released a new National Education Policy (NEP) draft, the first comprehensive education policy since 1986, in May 2019. Anurag Behar, a member of the NEP drafting committee and education advocate, discussed the NEP, higher education institutions in India, and the value of liberal education with Red House, Georgetown’s incubator for educational innovation.

Anurag Behar is the CEO for Azim Premji Foundation and vice chancellor for Azim Premji University, a not-for-profit organization focused on improving school education and human development in India. Behar is also the chief sustainability officer of Wipro Limited. He has served on the boards of Wipro GE Healthcare Ltd and TERI University; he currently is a member of the National Mission on Teachers and Teacher Education, Government of India implementation committee for the Justice Verma Commission, and the Confederation of Indian Industry's National Climate Change Council.
