Sonal Shah and Irfan Nooruddin hosted a group of social entrepreneurs and information and communications technology professionals from India who are involved in varying degrees with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Digital India Initiative.” The guests were participants in the U.S. State Department-sponsored International Visitor Leadership Program titled “Showcasing America’s Technological Experience.” The closed door discussion focused on strategies to sustain and support social entrepreneurs in India.
Sonal Shah is the founding executive director of Georgetown University's Beeck Center for Social Impact & Innovation.Irfan Nooruddin is the director of the India Initiative, Al-Thani Chair in Indian Politics, and an associate professor in the Asian Studies Program in Georgetown's School of Foreign Service.
